Federal Program Monitoring is a state process for assuring accountibility and for legal complaince with categorically funded programs. The state traditionally scheduled district visits approximately every four years to review programs. It is curently shifting over to an electronically based system.
Compliance Review - Self Assessment
The ELD program has performed a self-asssessemnt for compliance with state and federal program regulations. The self-assessment revealed several areas of non-compliance. (Click here to see draft report.)
Challenges
The district has committed to becoming fully compliant with law. To this end, Dr. Edgar Lampkin, Bilingual Coordinator of the Yolo County Office of Education, has been contracted to serve as a consultant with the district.
Key Strategies
Some key strategies have been identified for implementation in the 2011-2012 school year.
Dr. Lampkin's consultancy will be oriented towards putting systems in place to assure continued compliance.
